Surveys Going Out

We've successfully completed our "smoke test" of the campaign surveys, and having no issues reported the BackerKit surveys are now going out to all backers!

Many of you are familiar with BackerKit by now, but in case you aren't it's a very robust survey tool that's helping me get all these pledges organized and ready for shipment. It's also super handy in that it offers another chance for backers to add additional rewards they might have missed during the campaign, and that includes physical rewards for digital backers! 

So, if you pledged for say the Digital Deluxe but wanted to grab some of the stickers or prints we unlocked during the campaign, now's your chance!

I'm aiming to lock orders on August 22nd, after which you won't be able to make any changes to your pledge. At that point, digital rewards will go out to backers, and I'll start shipping physical orders shortly afterward.

So, keep an eye on your inboxes!

The Books Are Here!

I’m on my way out the door to ConnectiCon in Hartford this weekend, but I have incredible news!

The books are here!

Not only that, but all the stretch goals and extras have also come in!

Huge shout out to Indigo Ink for the incredible work on the prints, Sticker App for all those stickers, and of course Marquis for the stunning comic printing. I cannot wait to get all this gorgeous art into your hands!

With that in mind, the BackerKit Surveys are going to start going out on Monday!

Please keep your eyes peeled for those emails. The sooner they get filled out the sooner we can start shipping!

If you didn’t add everything you wanted to your pledge during the campaign, you’ll be able to add all sorts of goodies to your order during the survey process.

I’m going to attempt to keep the window between surveys going out and orders going out to be as short as I can (though it’s a busy summer!). This should minimize the dreaded “I’m moving and need to update my order” confusion, but you will be able to update your order and address up until the point the surveys get locked down for shipping. You’ll get a notification before your order gets locked down, giving you the chance to make last minute changes.

I’ll be posting more as things develop and as orders start getting packaged up and going out.

An Incredible Sucess!

Wow! What an absolutely incredible end to this campaign! Almost $33,000 raised to bring A Polycule of Mars to print. Incredible. Absolutely gobsmackingly incredible. This also means that we unlocked that 30k stretch goal, bringing the us to a total of two stickers and three bonus prints to all our physical reward tiers!

Seriously, I cannot begin to thank you all enough for being a part of this endeavor. Without fans like you, this comic--like most creator-owned, self-published comics--could not be a thing. The Red Sand nude beaches of Mars would simply be an idle daydream, rather than the stunning story you will soon hold in your hands. So, my thanks to you cannot be overstated. You are amazing.

What Comes Next?

Now comes the part where I order all the comics, all the stickers, all the prints, all the shipping materials and gather them to me like some dragon of fulfillment. I'll post updates as they come in and show off the goods (as much as I can), because I cannot wait for y'all to lay your eyes on this hotness.

Kickstarter will have already collected your campaign pledge. If for some reason your card was declined, they'll contact you to try to get it fixed. Please, please keep an eye out for these emails as they can sometimes get lost in spam folders. I want to be able to send you your comics!

Pledge Manager

Sometime next month you'll get an email to fill out a survey to confirm your reward choices and collect your shipping address. In previous campaigns, I've used Backerkit to accomplish this all important task. You'll also be able to download all of your digital rewards at that time. So, keep an eye out for that as well!

I missed the campaign; can I still get the books?

Yes! If you didn't make the official end of the campaign, Kickstarter now allows for "late pledges." These options for late comers will be available until the surveys go out. After that, you'll have to wait until the books are listed on my website.

LAST DAY!

It's the FINAL count down!

We're headed for Mars (not Venus) but this is farewell (sorta)! This is it. The end of the campaign is in sight. After thirty days, we've come down to the final 24 hours.

This campaign will officially END TOMORROW. June 17th at 4pm EST. And we are so close to adding another print to the physical reward tiers.

Oh myyyyyyy! The whole cast and crew, you say? A fitting conclusion to this Kickstarter, if I do say so myself! Add that to the existing collection of unlocked extras, and it's a right tidy pile of sexiness shipping out with every book!

But even if we don't quite make it to that $30k stretch goal, this has been an incredible run. And it's all thanks to the amazing--and incredibly thirsty--backers like you. 

Thanks to you, this book will see print. It'll be flipped through when no one is looking, or maybe brazenly in front of crowds. Who am I to say? You do you! Regardless, it'll be because y'all wanted it to be, and I cannot describe how good that feels.

Final Week!

As we enter our FINAL WEEK of the campaign, we've unlocked our fourth stretch goal, adding another sticker to eligible physical reward tiers! That bonus bundle is really starting to fill out, know what I mean, know what I mean?

But we're not done yet! There's still time on that clock, which means that there's time yet to unlock even more and build that bundle to absolutely monstrous proportions.

I was asked if it was possible to get blank Sketch Cover Editions of A Polycule of Mars issue 2, and I'm pleased to say that YES. That is now an available (though very limited) add-on.

I've also been asked about more expansive stretch goals. Things like trading cards or standees and while I love these ideas, they require a bit more development time than I've had during this Kickstarter. I will definitely be circling back to those ideas in the future, however.
